Who Is The Best Rock Bass Player Alive?

People are always debating who is the best rock guitar player, rock singer and rock drummer alive. But, it seems that the bass player seems to always get overlooked in these conversations. The bass is an important part of a rock band’s sound. So, who is the best rock bass player alive? Well, there are a few considerations that you must take into effect when you decide this. Overall effect on rock music, importance to their band and technical ability.

The first person I thought of when I thought about these guidelines was Paul McCartney. He was in the greatest rock band of all time, The Beatles. He wrote some of the most important and most well written rock songs of all time. He also is a technically sound bass player. His style is understated compared to some guys who slap away or take bass solos on every song. But, he has great tone and always seems to play what is right for the song. This task is probably made a little easier by the fact that he wrote most of the music that he is playing but you shouldn’t discount him for that. For these reasons I think that Paul McCartney is the greatest living rock bass player.
